A bit 'out of steam' this afternoon, after 'staying up' all night, obsessing on detailed photo-reconstruction from very scratched and decomposing 35mm b/w film, that I'd never 'printed up'.....This negative, even after an hour of 'work', is still a 'mess'......maybe, tomorrow.......pixel by pixel....then the 'work' begins.....on even single pixels, vastly enlarged from their context, then returned to contextual relevance......Where are those Marshall oil colors and spotting solutions, toners and silver/gold nitrates?.....I'm glad that I don't have to work with those anymore.....or a 'darkroom'.....another couple of hours! No, I'll leave it as it 'is'.....a reference to the failing eyesight of Samuel Beckett......1964......A Truth, in contradiction.....'there is no normal eye in this picture...The norm is in the spectator's personal experience, with which he will, necessarily, compare this.
