ASSEMBLAGE OF AN EVENING AT SYMPHONY HALL, LATER DREAMING AND EMERGENCE INTO THE MORNING AFTER.....
The morning motivator.......always.....FOOD.....after a caffeine fix, as always.......following a night of 'dream continuations'....episodic dreams that seem never to complete the 'now playing' show that emerges from the unconscious manipulations of Memory, Nostalgia and culinary obsessiveness......and...what's in the kitchen's fridge and pantry......awakening after a dream about flatbread, having displaced those youthful dreams about sex, flying, journeys into and within the Grey Matter Labyrinth and the conceptual integrations of sensory inputs ...as the sun arose and the sounds of early birds arrived through a closed but bent Venetian blind ....Last night, I dreamed of yesterday's Atlanta Symphony's performance of Mozart's Piano Concerto #20....during which I seemed rather peculiarly observant, hyper-vigilently, of the performers' pointed, elongated black shoes, tips folding up; two elderly couples in the first row of the balcony... holding hands, lovingly, as Jonathan Bliss played the familiar music;.....and the couple, seated at my left, alternativly embracing, then rejecting one another's embraces to the mood of the concerto......all this observational energy, must expend a few calories, I surmise, because...afterwards, I...usually...feel famished and return home for a quicko food fix......Midnight, yesterday, after the exhaustive Bruckner Symphony, for whatever reason, I wanted to roll up all of yesterday's 'leftovers' into a warm flour burrito while listening to Long Ships....which was an amalgamic congruency with the 'long shoes' becoming 'wooden ships'' observational dreaming, the circuituous and exhaustive Bruckner, expressing all the elements of 19th C. music that seemed to finish off a century of conventional, classical orchestral music, more dramatically evident by the justapostion of the Mozart "20" and the Bruckner Overdose, and pondering the influences of rock and folk music on the work of David Crosby......all this dreaming works up a big appetite......Life is a big Salad......don't pass on the endive, arugula or the dandelion leaves or pomegranate seeds.......A mind-shuffling non-linear passion of the Senses.......
