METAL PRESERVATION PROJECT....ON THE SIDE PORCH.....
MORNING "Curatorial" PROJECTS: determing the best method for preserving an ancient bronze chain and a rusty old iron Ship's Whale Oil Lantern........polyurethane, not an option!....for a photo shoot of Slave Ship lighting and manacle chain to illustrate a Poem about senesence and chemical decomposition......(although the Lantern was never aboard a Slave Ship; nor was the bronze chain utilized for any other than suspension of bronze bells, hanging from the mouths of elephants..... ) Bronze is, indeed, more lasting than Iron.....I'm thinking: hmmm....wouldn't that chain look great, if I made molds its links, then cast them in Gold......other than that the resultant chain would weigh about ten pounds...be very costly..and suitable, only, for Thor or Hercules....or, perhaps, IZZO....I'm 'going for' some Microcrystalline Wax and some buffing, since this Project is really of negligible importance to begin with.......and this morning's word...
